The wait is just about over. This weekend the UNBC Timberwolves Women's Soccer program kicks off their 2024 Canada West campaign with a difficult road-swing that sees them begin Friday, September 6 at MRU before heading back West to Victoria for a Sunday afternoon clash.

Despite being held off the scoresheet last weekend at home against Victoria, second-year midfielder Tamara Djurisic is looking to build off an exceptional first season in Canada West which saw her strike for eight goals, ranking her in a tie for third in conference scoring. One of those goals came against UNBC on October 1 and during a seven-game span between September 17 and October 8, the Edmonton product scored seven times.

Now in her third season of Canada West play, Quesnel's Ruby Nicholas is off to a fine start. Last weekend in Calgary, she notched a goal and an assist in a 4-3 victory over MRU. Last season she led the conference with nine assists and finished fifth in conference points (13). For her efforts, Nicholas was named a second-team Canada West all-star. Four of her nine career Canada West goals have been game winners.

Claire Turner returns for her final season of Canada West competition. The Fort St. John product is a fierce competitor, can finish near the net, and perhaps most importantly brings a wealth of experience and leadership to a young and up-and-coming Timberwolves squad. Turner and
Kjera Hayman are tied for the team-lead in career goals with three, and Turner's six career points are most of any returning player.
