The UNBC Timberwolves Women's Soccer program has added another talented player from the Interior, announcing the commitment of defender Annie Clark for the 2026 season and beyond.
Clark, a product of Kamloops, joins the Timberwolves after a successful career with Kamloops United FC and South Kamloops Secondary School. The defender brings strong technical ability, leadership and a massive desire to improve.
"We're excited to welcome Annie to UNBC," said Head Coach Neil Sedgwick. "She brings fantastic focus and a strong appetite to get better, consistently pushing herself, including through her League1 experience. Annie does well in all environments and will be a great person and addition to our team culture."
Clark has earned numerous accolades throughout her high school career.Â
In the classroom, she maintained Distinction Honour Roll status from Grades 8 through 12 while also receiving the Grade 9 Science Award, Grade 10 Social Studies Award, and Health Science Academy Award.Â
On the soccer field, she was recognized at a FTF March Break Camp as a Player of the Match, Top 150 participant, and one of the fastest athletes in attendance. She finished her season with a goal and three assists.
Clark has embraced leadership opportunities in her community, spending two years in leadership class, four years as a Link Crew mentor, and serving as a youth soccer coach with Kamloops United.
"I love soccer because it's been such a big part of my life from a really young age," Clark shared. "It's shaped who I am today and connected me with some of the most important people in my life. When I'm playing soccer, I feel most like myself."
Her summer visits to Prince George helped solidify UNBC as the right fit for both her academic and athletic goals.
"What stood out to me right away was how beautiful and small the campus is," said Clark. "It felt very welcoming, and I could picture myself there, both as a student and an athlete."
Clark also came away impressed by the culture established within the Timberwolves program.
"What really stood out to me was the culture of the program," she added. "Neil's calm and composed presence as a coach really impressed me. You can tell the team respects him, and he holds everyone to a high standard while still genuinely caring about his players as people first."
Clark will begin her studies in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program when she arrives at UNBC this fall.
The Timberwolves are excited to welcome Annie and her family to the UNBC community and look forward to watching her continue her development in green and gold.
