Â
Fourth-year midfielder Annika Gross is one of the central figures on the 2024 UBC Okanagan Heat. The Kelowna product was a second-team Canada West all-star a year ago, and so far has posted one goal and one assist while playing every single minute of soccer to this point of the season for the Heat. Back on September 15 against UNBC, Gross registered three shots – two of which were on target. One more point for Gross would set a new single-season high.

Player to Watch: Maleah Fernie
Â
Now in her second season of Canada West play, defender
Maleah Fernie has cemented herself as one of the cornerstones of the UNBC Timberwolves. The pride of Kamloops is one of just four TWolves to have played every single minute of soccer through six games, and last Sunday against Trinity Western, Fernie found the scoresheet with a spectacular assist on
Claire Turner's goal. Look for Fernie to play a big role once again on the UNBC backline this weekend on the road.
Â
Milestone Watch:
- Brityn Hinsche heads into the weekend just one save shy of 200 for her Canada West career.
- Last weekend at home, Camryn Cline appeared in her 30th career Canada West game.
- Maleah Fernie appeared in her 20th career Canada West game on Sunday against Trinity Western.
- Kate Rattee and Blake Plummer have both recorded their first career Canada West goals so far this season.
