What a difference a weekend can make. Thanks to a pair of victories a week ago, Steve Simonson's UNBC Timberwolves have climbed back within striking distance of a top-four playoff spot in the Pacific Division. With four games remaining now for the Timberwolves, they're still in a position where they can't solely rely on themselves to get there. But Friday's clash with Victoria (7:15 pm) carries significance importance because if the TWolves can secure three points, it vaults them only two points back of fourth with a Saturday showdown with UBC (7:30 pm) also looming large.

BOUNAAJA'S BIG NIGHT
We can safely say now that third-year midfielder
Mehdi Bounaaja is in the midst of a true breakout season for UNBC. The Langley product brings a stat line of two goals and four assists into this weekend which ranks him second on the team in points behind only
Kaiden Young. Bounaaja's skill on the ball can rival almost anybody in the conference, but his vision, play-making and positioning has really helped elevate his game in 2026. As the stakes get higher this weekend, another big weekend from Bounaaja would go a long way for UNBC.
