In her third year of Canada West play, Quesnel midfielder Ruby Nicholas has established herself as one of the true elite players in Western Canada. Coming into action this weekend, Nicholas sits atop her team in both goals (7) and points (10). Dating back to September 15, Nicholas has notched five goals in a five-game span – three of which came in a pair of home victories last weekend against UFV and Trinity Western. Nicholas sits just one point back of MacEwan's Hannah Harper for the conference lead in points.

First-year forward Julia Makoloski has put forth a solid first season in Canada West. The Camrose, AB product sits tied for the team lead in points (4) and her two goals rank her second among all Cougars. One of her two goals on the season came back on September 6 against UNBC. That same outing saw Makoloski post a team-high seven shots – three of which were on target. Both of her assists on the season have come in a recent span of three games in which MRU has gone 1-1-1 against TRU (win), TWU (loss) and UFV (tie).

Heading into this weekend, Claire Turner sits one game shy of 60 for her Canada West career. 'The Bear' scored her third goal of the season last Friday at UBCO, and now ranks as a top-five goal scorer in TWolves Canada West history. As her fifth season starts to wind down, you know that there will be no shortage of motivation for Turner and her teammates to put their best efforts forward down the stretch. Turner's leadership, consistency and offensive acumen have all been calling cards for the Fort St. John product over the years, and this weekend should be no exception as the TWolves chase down their second and third wins of the season.
