Box Score Saturday night at the NSC, the UNBC Timberwolves dropped a thrilling 65-57 decision to the TRU WolfPack. Overtime would be needed to decide Saturday's affair, as both teams emptied the tank for the final game of the 2025-26 season. Sydney Vollrath ended up leading the TRU attack with 13 points while UNBC's Aurora Cabrera posted an incredible 19 points, 18 rebounds and five blocks. Her fifth block of the night came late in overtime and helped set a new single-season program record for blocks.
Senior night emotion was evident early as the UNBC Timberwolves matched TRU shot for shot in the opening quarter, holding a slim 14–13 edge after ten minutes of play. Huang connected twice in the first frame, while Fuller and Manak set the tone with strong effort on both ends of the floor. Rookie Hazel Phillips provided an early spark offensively for UNBC with five points, while TRU was paced by Hailey Merrigan, who finished the quarter with seven points and two rebounds.
The WolfPack gained separation in the second quarter, using a 15–9 run to take control heading into halftime. After going scoreless in the opening frame, Sydney Vollrath caught fire, pouring in nine points in the quarter to push TRU ahead. UNBC countered with a strong two-way performance from first-year forward Cabrera, who recorded six points and two blocks in the period. By halftime, Cabrera had already accumulated four blocks, bringing her season total to 40—tying Vasiliki Louka for the single-season program record.
UNBC came out of the halftime break with renewed energy, outscoring TRU 18–13 in the third quarter to pull even at 41–41 through 30 minutes. Hazel Phillips continued her strong night, scoring seven in the frame and leading all players with 12 points after three quarters. Cabrera stayed impactful inside, adding three points and two rebounds to secure a double-double, while anchoring the Timberwolves defensively. For TRU, Olivia Randall and Maddy Hackman kept the WolfPack within striking distance by knocking down a pair of timely three-pointers in the quarter.
The two sides played a scrappy back-and-forth fourth quarter which saw each team score 12 points, meaning an eventual overtime would be needed to solve this one. In the 4th, Cabrera (6) and Viktoriia Filatova (4) combined for 10 points. Defensively Cabrera continued to have a monumental impact on the game. She pulled down eight rebounds in the fourth quarter alone, and would finish the night with 18 total. Aside from the result of the game, the only other question that remained was: Would Cabrera come up with one more block to set a new program record?
Yes! She absolutely would. Cabrera's fifth block of the night and the 41st of her rookie season came late in overtime. Unfortunately for the TWolves their offensive luck ran out during the extra five minutes as TRU outscored them 12-4 in the overtime period to secure the win.
It was an emotional send off for the three UNBC grads, but when Sophia Fuller, Claire Huang and Amrit Manak were subbed off in the final minute of overtime, the NSC crowd rightfully stood and applauded three incredible leaders and contributers to the UNBC Women's Basketball program.
