The UNBC Timberwolves Men are hoping to wrap up the 2025 calendar year in winning fashion when they take to the courts of TRU for a Friday night clash with the TRU WolfPack.
Todd Jordan's club is coming off a pair of home losses to the reigning national champs from Victoria, and now with a 2-9 record, the TWolves are going to need to string some wins together in order to get back into the playoff mix.
Heading into action tomorrow night, the TWolves are three wins back of the fifth placed Trinity Western Spartans for the final Pacific Division playoff spot, and will be facing TRU for the first of three meetings between now and February 7, 2026.
Last week, third-year guard
Chris Ainsley made his season debut for UNBC, and looked strong on both nights, reaching double-digits on both occasions while averaging 27.5 minutes played. Saturday's standout performer was second-year guard
Danilo Gonzalez who managed a career-high 16 points.
Putting some wins together against TRU won't be easy as the WolfPack have compiled an impressive 7-4 record. Those seven wins all came in a row to start the season, but since then they've dropped four straight, and now sit fourth in the five-team playoff picture in the Pacific.
After transferring to TRU from Rust College in Mississippi (NAIA), third-year guard Jayden Stephens is averaging 17.8 points-per-game. Earlier this season he dropped 31 at UBC on Halloween night. Dami Farinloye adds more punch from the back-court with an average of 13.6 points-per-game.
The TWolves and WolfPack begin battle at 7:30 pm tomorrow night, and Canada West TV has you covered for every second of the action.
