The third-year forward from Meridian, ID has been a big contributor at both ends of the floor in each of UNBC's first two playoff victories. Gillespie has had a penchant for timely baskets, and defensively his seven rebounds per contest are second, only to Chris Ross. Gillespie went four-for-four from the free-throw line on Thursday vs. Manitoba and was the only shooter on either side that did not have a miss from the stripe.

Fourth-year guard Diego Maffia is the two-time reigning Canada West Player of the Year. After leading the conference in scoring (26.7 PPG) for a second straight season, Maffia and his teammates are also in pursuit of their third consecutive Canada West championship. In his only previous playoff game so far in Manitoba, Maffia torched the Brandon Bobcats for 34 points.
