Fourth-year guard Jalen Shirley is a major cog in the UBCO wheel. The fourth-year guard out of Brampton, ON heads into this weekend as the team's top scorer, and the team's top distributor. Shirley's quickness and aggressiveness makes him difficult to defend, and those same attributes make him a capable defender as well. Shirley's regular season high for points came against UNBC on November 1st when he poured in 22 on nine-of-17. He also went two-for-two from deep.

On Friday night in Regina, Justin Sunga shot the lights out. The third-year product of Burnaby led the TWolves with a season-high 29 points. Sunga was especially dominant from deep as he connected on six of his eight three-point attempts. It was exactly the type of breakout performance that Sunga needed in 2024-25, and here's hoping that his recent surge of offense can carry into this weekend at home, as when Sunga is firing on all cynlinders, it tends to have a positive ripple effect on the rest of the group.

Milestone Watch:

  • Justin Sunga needs just 30 more points to reach 500 for his Canada West career.
  • Sunga is 13 assists shy of 200.
  • Sunga currently sits 29 rebounds shy of 200.
  • Evgeny Baukin is 23 assists away from 100.
  • Baukin is 44 points shy of 500.
  • Josh Gillespie is 18 points back of 300 for his Canada West career.
  • Will Keyes needs just 34 more rebounds to arrive at 100.
